Three guides begin a shift at the Cottage
Our
Volunteer Guides develop a rota and staff the cottage for guided tours each opening day through the year. Training is provided and each new volunteer shadows a more experienced veteran for a few shifts before going solo.
Our
Project Volunteers develop research topics and themed presentations for cottage displays. They spend many enjoyable hours in the library and archives to seek out the interesting bits of history attached to various periods of Mrs Smith's life and the many artefacts held by the museum.
Our
Event Volunteers organise the various special events held each year from school visits and wash days to an annual Book Sale to raise funds to support the cottage.
Our
Friends of Mrs Smith's Cottage group is open to anyone who wishes to support the cottage whether you wish to volunteer for work assignments or not. The group organises social activities through the year for all members.
