Throughout the year we hold many Special Events based around themes taken from the life and times of Mrs Smith.

Special activities can sometimes be organised for a school party group visit to add some fun to any history curriculum.

Cooperative effort to make a colourful rag rug

A popular event is the Rag Rug Workshop - pegging together a rug for the floor from scraps of old material. Visit the Rag Rug Page to see the projects.

Our Victorian Washdays have proved very popular with children dressing up and making do with the old dolly tub and mangle and bags of 'blue' that were the height of technology - finishing up with hanging everything on the cottage washing line!
You can see the result on the WashDay Page

We are particularly active around Christmas time with the cottage decorated the old-fashioned way, a visit by Santa to our Christmas Grotto and hot mince pies from the old range!

All events are at the Museum, 3, East Road, Navenby unless otherwise noted.
The Church Hall is behind St. Peter's Church along the Catwalk footpath off Church Lane.
The Museum Office is second on the right along North Lane.

Please note that children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult for all events and visits to the cottage.

Booking is required or recommended for some events. Please click the Booking Request link for the event to make your reservation or to request further details about the event or call the Curator on 07887 928 733.
